The Faith Community Nursing Interest Group

  • as an interest group of RNAO, to actively support the initiatives of RNAO
  • to provide a forum for communication and exchange of ideas
  • to promote awareness of the roles of parish nurses and to serve as liaison with RNAO, CNA and other groups in promoting certification of parish nurses
  • to provide professional support for parish nurses
  • to encourage the formation of liaison groups throughout Ontario
  • to support implementation of standards of practice for parish nursing
  • to encourage participation of parish nurses in education and research
  • to ascertain the feasibility of the FCNIG being a corporate group member in the Canadian Association for Parish Nursing Ministry

The CAPNM Annual Conference is coming April 30-May 2, 2024-“Curious Compassion: The Spiritual Connection to Soften Illness Suffering.”

The Canadian Association for Parish Nursing Ministry who is responsible for advancing faith community nursing in Canada is having its annual general meeting! Will you join FCNIG members? FCNIG can send six individuals to attend via Zoom. Please let us know if you plan to attend the CAPNM AGM!

This year’s Keynote Speaker is Dr. Lorraine M Wright, RN, PhD, C.M., international speaker and consultant in family therapy and family nursing, a renowned Clinician and Professor Emeritus of Nursing, University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada. In presentations, she offers her 45 years of clinical practice experience plus her practice – based research of how best to assist families to soften their illness suffering without judgement. Dr. Wright will enlighten us about Curious Compassion that will provide ways to help clients when experiencing serious illness or end-of-life options and how to promote family healing.

When: April 30 – May 2, 2024

Where: Queen’s House Retreat and Renewal Centre Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
